The Cults Primary School Walking Bus is a free service run by volunteers. It’s aim is to get as many pupils of Cults Primary School walking to school.
Due to data protection law; the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we would like to make you aware of how we use and store your personal data. The walking bus is regarded as a data controller.

What Information do we collect?
We only collect information you provide to us – your name, address, phone number and email address, as well as any relevant details for any children enrolled on the bus.

How do we use your personal information?
We use the information to figure out the best walking bus routes and to actually run the bus. We need to hold a register of all children using the walking bus and their emergency contact numbers. We need to know relevant medical and other information that is necessary for the safe and effective running of the service. We will use your phone number on the whatsapp group(s) for your route and any role you might have in the walking bus and to contact you to do with the walking bus service. We purely use the information given for the purposes of running the walking bus service.

Who has access to my personal information?
The other parents and volunteers on the walking bus whatsapp groups will have access to your name and phone number. A list of parents’ contact details will also be kept in the walking bus rucksack for the route they volunteer and/ or their children are enrolled on. The administrators and management team will have access to all the information given to the service. All children on the walking bus have a lanyard with their name and any relevant information for the safety and effectiveness of the bus and that child inside the lanyard. The lanyards, register and list of parents’ details are kept in the relevant walking bus rucksack, as well as online on our website. The administrators and management team also retain electronic copies.

How long do we keep your information?
We will keep your information for as long as your child(ren) is enrolled on the walking bus and/ or you are a volunteer on it and will keep that information for up to a year after you formally leave the service, unless you ask us otherwise.

How will we contact you?
We will contact you through email, phone, letters, and social media apps, such as whatsapp.
How do we handle your information and other organisations?
We do not pass on or sell your information in any way.
